History

It is said that Takoyaki was made by a man named Tomekichi Endo in 1933, Osaka prefecture. He was influenced by Akashiyaki which is made of egg based batter with octopus inside and Radioyaki which is made of flour based batter with beef tendon inside. Both food were popular in the Kansai region (the area around Osaka), Tomekichi mixed the recipe of those food and created Takouaki. Tomekichi’s original Takoyaki was flavored with soy sauce however in the 1950s uster sauce(Takoyaki sauce) came out and became the standards of Takoyaki today.
