ep19 Dodekai Baby-Star Ramen

Dakashi

Dodekai Baby-Star Ramen is a fired noodle type snack. What is deferent to the normal Baby-Star Ramen (check ep15) is the size of the snack. Dodekai Baby-Star Ramen is a 2 inch(6cm) size lump of Baby-Star Ramen stick together. Dodekai means huge in Japanese.

History

After Baby-Star Ramen was first sold in 1958, soon it became a popular snack in Japan. However for a long time the manufacture was blamed by the children’s parents who bought the snack for their kids. What they were blamed about was that the kids always dropped the snack everywhere because of its thin and tiny size. For this issue Oyatsu Company came up for the idea to make the ramen stick together instead of making tiny fragments of ramen. With this idea the company finally produced Dodekai Baby-Star Ramen in 1999. This snack became popular and also achieved the parents support. For my opinion I love the Doedekai Baby-Star Ramen much more than the normal one because it is more crunchy and tasty.

That’s all. Thanks for reading!! Arigato.
